--- 25 July 2008, 6PM -- Relying too much on them ---

Recently, I have gone through a spate of mishaps, theft and losses with a whole lot of Electronic Gadgets that I owned. The first was of course, when my Sony Ericsson K850i got pickpocketed by some low-life. Gone with it were hundreds, or even thousands, of pictures of Putri and me, hundreds of Songs (this one I dun care), a few dozen games, some applications, some documents, a good $400 odd Phone and also the 8GB MicroSD. *sigh* Typing abt this is already making me sad. I miss him! If I can, I would want the same phone back. :(

Anyway, back to the topic. The lost of my hp already made me realise that I shouldn't have relied too much of it being by my side all these while and to serve me 100% whenever I need it. Most of my newer phone contacts were not backed up on my PC eventhough there is already a program which allows me to do so at a click of a button. Yeah... lazy me. See lah. Now all gone. I used to do backups like once every week but I have stopped doing that coz I was just taking things for granted. All I have now is a contact list which is about 6months old and since some people change mobile phones numbers like changing diapers, I have a lot of numbers calling or messaging me that I do not have in the phone book. What's more when I was holding my Engagement last week. There was a lot of relatives and friends which I could not contact.

I need to get another phone that is similar to my old K850i coz I couldn't bear using my backup phone which have a smaller screen and lesser functions! I can't even send MMS with it! What's more I have bought an army of compatible accessories that I would use with my K850i everyday. Here is a list of 'em.

  • HBH970 - SE Bluetooth Headset cum earphones (spoilt!)
  • MBW150 - SE Bluetooth Watch
  • MBS100 - SE Bluetooth Speaker
  • Holux Slim GPS Bluetooth Unit (fixed up with my Motorcycle)

Yes, all of them can still work with my backup phone.... but.. but... not ALL the functions are accessible. Shessh. GET A LIFE MAN! hahah...

Anyhoooooooo, there are a couple of other things that have gone *kaput* around me. First was my Bluetooth Headset listed above. I dunno what happened to it. It just refused to switch on one day. I think it was due to the sweaty body that shorted it. Thinking of sending it to the repair centre but I couldn't find the darn Warranty Card!!!

Next was my home PC. At first, I had trouble starting up my PC after updating the BIOS. At first I thought nothing of it until the next time I booted it up... It got stuck even before the WIndowsXP screen showed up. Sometimes I would get the evil "Boot Failure. Could not start Windows" Message. *shivers* My first thought was that the Newer main disk had failed. I thought it was fine coz I didn't store any precious data on it other that programs and games. I loaded a WinXP CD into the CD-ROM, hoping to install WinXP onto another Harddrive and booting up from there, but everything got stuck at the same place.

So, out of desperation, I opened up my PC and wanted to see which Hard Disk was the one creating problems. Then I remembered that I read somewhere about resetting the BIOS (its the Basic Input/Output System that is embedded into every motherboard). To Reset the BIOS, i had to take out the button battery on the motherboard. This battery provides some power to store the settings of the BIOS when the PC is turned off. So, I just pulled out the battery from its place.. waited a few minutes and put it back in. Switch my PC on.. and WALLA!!! It booted up without any issues. Like nothing have happened. *Phew* But, Alas, one of my 3 harddisks DID FAIL. It was a 120GB Hard disk with years of data in it. Pics, docs, data, my raw Future MRT map and other stuff. WHY WHY WHY?!?! I was lucky the Pics are already saved onto another Disk. But the documents.. argh.. My resume.. everything.. GONE. I never did make a Backup. I should have. The Hard disk was old. I should say more than 5 years old. So, moral of this part is not to keep your precious data in one old Hard disk. Copy it onto CDs, Portable Drives, etc etc. DO IT NOW! Don't say I didn't warn you. I gonna get one at Sim Lim Square soon. A 120GB portable harddisk costs only $70+! SO? what are you waiting for?

Other than these stuff, my Starhub TV Box went kaput 2 weeks ago. It was easily replaced 1-to-1 at the service centre. Putri's PC ALSO have problems. The monitor especially. I bought it at Cash Convertors and its now breaking down. Crap. The Windows Installation also have big problems. ARGHH... need to find the time to repair all these.

Lucky I still have my Putri to keep me sane.

Gadgets are EVIL! But I need them... - AzMean

--- 21 July 2008, 11AM --- Az & Is Engagement ---

Yesterday, on 20th July 2008,

Putri & Me finally got Engaged.

If you put the date in 8 digit numbers, as in DDMMYYYY, it will read 20072008. Nice number yeah? The original date was actually on the 19th, the day before, but due to unforseen circumstances, we decided to hold it the next day.

You weren't invited? That's because it was just a small, mostly family-only event. Just a few very Close friends were invited to my place and of course my entire Family as well.

Only these few guys came over to my place. Thanks Bros!

Preparations were done since last week, on Thursday. Putri and me have been running all over to get the last minute stuffs done. And since my handphone was stolen, some pics of us preparing for the engagement were lost as well. So, we decided to take some "behind the scenes" pics again.

BY Saturday, it was all hell in both houses as we prepared decorations and food for the next day. Food Ingredients were bought, the house cleaned up and whatever that needed to be done.

Sunday was chaos as the food have to be prepared by 11am before the guests arrive. Everyone woke up early and began to do chores. I helped my mum in the kitchen preparing some cut fruits and making Mini Cupcake Fruit Custard thingys. By Noon, my friends have came over and most of my relatives too.

My Aunts and Uncles going to the Girl's Side

At 2.30pm, my "Wakil" and the Engagement gifts were then on the way to Putri's side. All in all, 1 Mini-bus and 3 cars full of my relatives went to the Girl's Side.

Isn't she Beautiful?

I went there later on to take pictures with Putri, since we had a photographer there. We took a few posed shots together as well as with the entire Family there. There were some candid shots too, courtesy of the Photographer.

At the end of the day, all was well and everything turned out the way it was planned out.

And 2 days ago (on the 19th), other than our engagement, it was also our 32nd Monthly Anniversary. Happy Anniversary, Putri. I love you. Now we are one more step closer for us to be only You and Me. As One....

Yes, I just passed my class 2A 2 weeks back and I went straight to the bike shop to claim what was rightfully mine. The TP test went along fine. In only got 8 out of 18 Demerit points. Wooohoo! Actually I was quite surprised to see that among all the 80 Testees that took the same test with me, only about 10 of them failed. Yup.. A LOT OF THEM PASSED! So, if you want to take Class 2B, 2A or 2, GO to BBDC. They ROX! (FYI, I dun work with them).

--- 25 June 2008, 11AM --- After So Long ---

Kwang kwang kwang! I didn't realise that my page is being read frequently by some of my friends until they kept pestering me to UPDATE MY BLOG! Yeah.. I get it.. I get it.. So.. here I am UPDATING it, FInally!

The recent fluctuations of price hikes in almost everything has been keeping me busy. My home life is changing, My Love life is changing and everything is happening in one full swing! Busy busy busy... SO BUSY, that I can't even play my Lego!

Ok, ok.. the reason I have been avoiding to update my blog was.. was.. was...... I just got very busy these last few months and weeks and days. It was quite hard to update at my workplace coz my Boss and Supervisor sits right beside me. How to update, you tell me?

Any updates on my life? Well, its just been really hectic at work with more and more web projects coming my way and I need to get ready to learn more web programming stuff. My major project is now in the midst of completion. They expect it up by end of this month! Uhukz! And after that, more projects. :p Other than that, I had been promoted last month with a 13% pay raise. So, yeah... A bit happy but not that happy. If they start to give out our Quarterly Bonuses, THEN I'll be happy. Haha..

Ok ok ok... FYI, I'm not residing in Queenstown anymore. By the end of this month, I'll be living even further away from the rest. I will be moving to a distant far away "hilly land" and leaving behind all my precious memories in Queenstown; where I was born, raised, beaten up when I was noty and catch guppies in the huge canal that is right in front of my home. :'( *Sniff*. I'm really gonna miss that place. Alas, life starts anew in this new place. From the Green MRT Line to the Gray LRT Line and the Red MRT Line. From the Mature Housing Estate to the Newer growing estate. And from the 8th floor, I'm now 2 floors higher.

Actually, I already knew this place quite well before I came here. Coz I used to come into this new estate regularly, when I was in Sec Sch. My Guy Best Friend used to live just 3 blocks away from my new place and I ever so often go to his place to hang out and play Sega Games. haha.. but he already moved away to the other side of the neighbourhood. So, not all is lost.

So, if time permits, I will update this page more regularly, but that's NOT a promise! Till then, take care!

--- 25 June 2008, 12AM --- What if... ---

Me and Putri played a simple game of "what if"s just now. It was simple but useful in a relationship, since you have to find out wat "thing" closely resembles your partner.

You just need to get a subject; it can be anything! Plants, clothes, cars, animals... blah blah blah.. the possibilities are endless! After you get a certain subject, ask your partner, what "thing" represents him/her closely. I know you don't understand what the *TOOT* I'm talking about. Haha! Ok ok.. let me give you an example.

Let's say, I take a subject on "Cars". So I ask my partner, "What if, I'm a CAR, which one would I be?". That's all. Of course, the answer can be anything. The Person's Personality, Looks,.. you get the picture.

Below were both our questions and the answers:

1) What if I'm a drink (What Would I be)?

Her answer for me (Hers): Bandung :p har har har coz she tinks i like pink stuff.

My answer for her (Mine): Es Pukat (Avocado drink), coz the color of the drink really represents her. Pale Green with a tinge of Brown.

2) What if I'm a food?

Hers: Im a Strawberry ah.. Kauzzzz.. of all things.. takpe lah.. strawberry pun strawberry lah.

Mine: She will be an Ice-Cream. Coz she can NEVER reject them.

3) What if I'm a thing (non-living)?

Hers: A shirt. Coz Im simple but needed by everyone! Woohoo!

Mine: Lamborgini. Coz she's sexy, hot and no matter how much you want to avoid looking at it, YOU CAN'T!

4) What if I'm an animal?

Hers: Monyet. AH ye lah.. Since Sec sch sia.. :(

Mine: Dolphin. Coz she loves them and she once made a small statue in art class during Sec Sch.

5) What if I'm a plant?

Hers: I'm a Rose. Coz it's thorny and I hurt her :'(

Mine: A Lily, Coz it stands out from all the other flowers no matter how simple she wants to be.

6) What if I'm a Shape?

Hers: You will be an Oval! ... coz of the shape of my face. -???-

Mine: General Shape of a Vase (you know.. coke bottle shape). Sexxxxyyy!!!.. Fewwwiiit!

7) What if I'm a Watch?

Hers: Digital Watch. Self-Explainatory.

Mine: A watch that tells the user his/her vital signs. Coz she takes care for others around her.

8) What if I'm a Shoe?

Hers: I will be her slippers.. coz its comfortable and easy to wear.

Mine: She will be Crocs! Coz she always seems so happy to see those Crocs footwear and the accessories, Jibbits.

9) What if I'm a part of the Human Body?

Hers: The Leg. Coz u always come up with new ideas to solve a particular problem which no one else can think off. Which means can walk here n there meaning u are needed most of the time..

Mine: The Brains! Coz she is smart, witty and always know what to do or say in any situation.

10) What if I'm a Book?

Hers: Comic. :p NO need to explain!

Mine: Nancy Drew Book. Coz she's curious and loves detective investigation kind of thing.

=====================================

YEah.. dat was it (I think). So, if you are with ur friends or partner, and donno wat to talk about.. try asking each other these type of questions! Surely it will kill some time! Woohooo!

What if... I'm a ghost? Heh...

-- 04 Mar 2008, 430PM -- MBW-150 Bluetooth Watch --

After researching and finding details of this Gadget, I decided to get myself one of the latest Sony Ericsson Bluetooth watches, MBW-150 Classic Edition. Its very difficult to get a hold of this baby in Singapore, so after searching the local online forums, there was this only ONE shop that stood out. I couldn't remember the name of the shop but its located at the 2nd Basement of Plaza Singapura in Dhoby Ghaut.

<< the MBW150 watch comes in this big box. Bigger than the Phone's Box. >>

The reason I bought this watch was because.. well, I misplaced my older Swatch Watch (I don't know how or when) and I needed to get one coz I have been looking at my naked wrist whenever I needed to know the time. So, I told myself, why not get a watch that I will REALLY like. So I got the myself this Bluetooth Watch.

--- 04 Mar 2008, 330PM --- Putri's Back ---

Yesterday was the day my Putri came back to Singapore and it was also the day that I got my first ever foot massage. Haha!

I picked up Putri at T1. She was still in her thick purple jacket that she wore almost all the time in Taipei. During her 6-hour long flight, she couldn't sleep at all coz the weather wasn't good and had turbulances almost the entire journey. Anyway, she's safe back in my arms and on the ground. Surprisingly, there weren't that many people in the T1 area so I had no problem spotting her.

I managed to strap all of her luggage on my RX-Z before sending her home and going for a quick foot massage near her place. I was a bit hesitant to go to the foot massage thingy coz, it was my first time going to one. Yes, I never went to any massaging thingys before. I was hesitant coz.. basically, when Putri tried to massage my feet once, I ended up curling in laughter coz I felt so ticklish. Ngahahaha!

After much persuasion, I decided to go along as we had nothing to do. The treatment was simple. Wash our smelly feet in the foot bath. They had the foot basin ready, only that we need to scrub our feet ourselves. After that, we just sat in the lazy chair and waited for our.. erm.. what you call them? Massagers? hahah! Whatever lah.

I got massaged by this uncle there lah.. he was good but a bit painful. Was it meant to be painful? Coz I swear I felt that one of my toes was almost being pulled out while he was massaging it. There were areas where it hurts and there were areas where I felt that I can just fall asleep. So, it was like a roller-coaster ride of pains and relieves, with my face squirming and relaxed at different intervals. Putri was used to it.. so she just sat there with her magazine. I tried to play some games on my handphone.. but I just couldn't focus. Haha!

Overall, it was good lah.. felt a bit better and fresher but at the same time my head is asking me to go to sleep. Maybe that's the side effects of massages.

--- 28 Feb 2008, 10PM --- About Stolen, Taiwan & Lunch Food ---

Why does our food in the pantry always go missing??? Don't the people who steal the food feel guilty when eating other people's food? I just don't understand.

My department (in the office floor) have this Mini-Pantry since our section is located at the far corner of the entire office space. Its just a 2litre electric thermos flask and some condiments, biscuits, 3-in-1s and whats whats. Anyway, since there is the pantry there, I had brought some food to be shared amongst my colleagues there. But there is some food that I brought to be consumed by me, alone. These personal food stuff are located ON MY TABLE, right beside my PC.

I usually bring my favourite Instant Hot Choc packets, Various flavoured Lipton Tea and some biscuits. Lately, my Hot Choc packets have been getting lesser after almost every night shift. I'm working during the day, so 2 days ago, when I opened up the box that stores my Hot Choc packets, there was only 2 packets Left!!! The last time I remembered, there were 4 or 5 packets! UGH!!! Even my Lipton Teabags were not spared.

Can't these people just ask for permission, AT LEAST? I mean, if I wanted to share it, I would have put it on the pantry and not on my personal Table. Use your brain, use your braiiinnn... . Anyway, I posted a small sign at the side of my PC.

Talking about food, I have just finished having a meal with my Putri. No, she's not beside me now.. well.. not physically. She's online with me on MSN, using Webcam and mic to communicate together. We just ate together, online basically.

She's in Taiwan FYI, working on attachment under her Company. It's really cold there, about 5 deg Celcius and getting Halal Food there is not easy. Yes there are a few locations on that we may have found on the net, but its hard to get around when everything is in Chinese. Even Googlemaps is in Chinese! DAMN! But today, she managed to go to this Indian-Muslim Restaurant and its the first time she have Halal food since she stepped in Taiwan. She just bought this Nasi Briyani with Curry Chicken which costs about S$20. Quite Exp huh? Well, at least she got REAL food now.. than the usual bread, fruits, milo or cereal she had before this. NO FRET MY DEAR! I will belanja many many good food when you come back! woot!

Coincidentally, I had Chicken Briyani for lunch, just now. Hehe.. Great minds think alike! :)

--- 22 Feb 2008, 11PM --- KTM Railway Station ---

I went for a late dinner with my parents at the KTM Railway Station. I don't go there often coz.. ermm.. I can't think of a reason actually. hehe.. Anyway, since its been ages since I have actually been there for a meal, I was quite surprised to find out that the entire place is actually under-going a makeover. Finally!

The internal facade of the train station has a new coat of paint, new tiles, new ticketing office, etc etc. The only thing that wasn't touch was the eateries there, of course. If they were to be renovated too, then they would surely have to close shop for a while. That will be bad for business! :P

Its cool to see that this Malaysian Property is finally having a new look rather than just leaving it as it is, with old peeling paint, broken windows and the outside clock which always tells 11:30 (I'm not sure whether they fixed that or not).

PS: Putri is coming back to Singapore tomorrow! Wohoo!

--- 19 Feb 2008, 1030PM --- Are You Lucky? ---

Just before I wanted to post this blog, my parents asked a 'quick' favour from me. Thinking that they probably wanted to ask me to save some phone numbers into their handphone contact list, I went to their rescue... Then.. they gave me a whole load of this...

A whole stack of Lucky Draw Receipts to fill in! *Groan* If you shop often at Sheng Shiong Supermarket, then you should know about there Lucky Draw thingys that comes printed out together with your receipts. Well, since my parents are still doing their Nasi Padang business, going to this supermarket is a daily task for them, and thus the big stack of receipts.

TO tell you the truth, I'm NOT a huge fan of Lucky Draws, coz basically I NEVER, EVER won anything before. Oh wait.. I did. Twice to be exact. Once was during my McDonalds stint while I was still in Primary School. I won an AIWA Walkman which got spoiled 1 or 2 months later. And the 2nd one was at this MCS Dinner in Poly when I won a dozen 300ml bottles of... Coca-Cola. -_-'

Though, I still DO submit some lucky draws once in a blue moon, that are irresistable for me. Like? Like when the prizes are Electronics Gadgets! What else? But, then again, I don't put any hopes on it. How about you? Had a lucky streak lately?

Man... TODAY was a really hot day! Mr Sun was really shining on Earth today! It was lucky I bring out my shades when I went out to collect my K850i Mobile from the service center. (yes, again). I think, my handphone really is getting better now. It loads my 8GB memory card a lot faster and I don't experience any big lags, so far. I hope this phone is really finally cured! (let's just cross my fingers). I reach at about 2pm or so and got out 30mins later... coz there was no queue at all! haha! If you want to go to send your SE mobile phones for repair, go on a weekday, between 2-5PM. Super Fast!

Then, I went to the Creative HQ across the road to get a spanking new.. Keyboard! Not just any keyboard, a gamers keyboard. Not that I'm a hardcore gamer.. but its just that I like the way it is able to light up the keys (like your handphone), so that you can still type in darkness. :)

It's quite heavy though and its not wireless, so it costs only $70. Woot! And the lights are BLUE! My Fav Color!

--- 18 Feb 2008, 9PM --- Bored to the MAX! ---

Putri has left for Jakarta yesterday and she will be there for a week and will be returning on the 24th. She's there with Teater Artistik for a Drama Performance, "Bicara". I hope she is doing well there. Miss her liow! Baby, if you are reading this... I MISS YOU LAH!!! :(

Aaaand coz of that... I'm bored to the max! Tomorrow working.. *sheesh*.. need to wake up early again. Been waking up so early these past few weeks, due to the school shows. Its sucking my energy away like a black hole!

I finished my fixing my custom-made Lego Model of a City Park and shared it among my Lego Friends online already. So, now.. I dunno wat to do. I wanted to install some of my old racing games but can't find the damn *#^@ CD! Crap lah...

So out of boredom, I read some other people's blogs and came across this gal's blog, Ifah. (she's the one who put a comment on my tagboard). I read and read and read.. and then a familiar face came up on the screen. This one.

I went.. "WHAT DE!?". What is my nephew doing on her blog??? Then I remembered something. During the CNY Picnic with my family, one of my cuzzins was eyeing on this gal sitting beside our family. And that gal happened to be this Ifah gal lah. Haha!

And to think I did not even recognize her at all! Of coz lah, never meet face-to-face before what. :p Haha.. wat a small world!

--- 17 Feb 2008, 1PM --- The Opium Cast ---

Next week will be the final week for this 'season' that I will be doing the 'Heroes of Opium Hill' School Shows. It have been a really eventful 3 weeks doing the show with the rest of the cast.

<< Apit. Usually he is "Lt. Adnan" but sometimes, he is "Capt. Rix"

Eventhough each and every show uses the same script, we will surely add more adlibs dialogs spontaneously. These has made a few comedic scenes, for both the audience and for the cast as well. For example, one day there was this small bat that was sleeping on one of the stage curtains. While setting up the stage, we accidentally woke him up and the tiny bat started to fly around the stage aimlessly. Some of the cast got spooked (esp. the only gal there) and made a big hoo-haa backstage. This in turn, made one of the cast adlibbed about the bats, during the show.

>> Saiful & Calista. "Malay Soldier" or "Lt. Adnan" and "Supiah" respectively.

There will be also a few incidences that will make everyone in the team nervous-shit especially when one (or more) cast are late or not picking up calls before the show. I was late for one of the morning shows but I managed to reach just in time as the students were filling up the hall. That was one close call. Another incident was when one of the main cast went MIA and we couldn't contact him at all. So, we decided to re-structure the script and make do with the 4-men cast (out of 5). It was the first time for me doing that, but it turned out better than we expected and the show went on like nothing happened.

that's me in the jap soldier suit. Bagero! The guy wearing a cap is the audio guy.

It is always a fun morning to work with these guys. They are one really funny and spunky group. There will be another 4 more shows this week and the next 'season' will be in August.

--- 15 Feb 2008, 730PM --- The V Day ---

Well well,... The V day is here again. The day when you can see almost all the couples in Singapore walking around carry, at least, 3 flowers in their hands and walking hand-in-hand. It is also the day when Florists rake in the most profits and restaurants charging extra for almost everything. Its a wonderful world, isn't it?

I had ordered a bouquet of flowers online from FarEastFlora.com. Their products are a bit expensive I should say, but I like their Customer Service. Very professional and willing to go the extra mile for their customers. I also got a Dolphin Plush (named Donovan) and a box of Ferrero Roche Chocs.

Of course, I didn't tell Putri about this and she just knew that we were going Swenson's for a V Day Dinner. So, I stuffed the bouquet nicely into my motorcycle box, together with some smaller gifts I got for her. And when I picked her up after her show at the Arts House, I surprised her by wishing her a Happy V Day while opening the box. Heh...

We went for our V Day Feast at Swenson's in Bugis and my, was the queue long! Luckily I had done a reservation earlier on in the week, so we had our own "reservations only" queue. Woot! We got our seats within 5 minutes while we were cam-whoring in the queue. :p The feast was basically a so-called 5-course meal starting with Soup OTD, 2 ala-carte, 1 side dish, 2 special Strawberry-Lemon Tea cocktail and finally a Heart-shaped Ice-cream cake for dessert. Putri had her usual Chilli Fish Pasta while I also had my usual Mega Burger Meal. We both didn't managed to finish both of our meals though. The meals were served super fast! Even faster than normal days!

Well, less talk here and more pictures below! Enjoy!

--- 15 Feb 2008, 6PM --- Heck of a looong day ---

Woot! Yesterday (14th Feb) was a looong day for me. I spend the day travelling all over the place, just to get my errands done. Strangely, the errands were the same as what I have done on Monday.

Spot A - Start (My Home) / Spot B - 1st School show / Spot C - Breakfast! / Spot D - 2nd School show / Spot E - Sony Ericsson Service Centre / Spot F - Collect Cheque / Spot G - Motor Inspection (click for higher res)

It started out with 2 school shows, both in the North of our sunny Island. One was early in the morning, 7:30AM which had only 4 out of 5 cast acting coz the other one, had overshot his dreamland getaway and couldn't wake up on time. :p So we had to redo the script on the spot and I have to act as another extra character. It turned out fine though... As if nothing had happened. hehe..

After which, (Spot C on the map), we went for a breakfast in Sembawang Area since the next show starts at noon. We had 4 hours to kill so we ate outside instead. My breakfast was 3 Plain Pratas and Teh 'O Gajah (Big Tea 0). The pratas were nice! Plain Pratas nowadays are usually round shaped but this shop makes them in squares, so it was much more fluffy and crispy.

The 2nd school show was done without any bumps in the road and we cleared out the stage before the clock striked 1PM. I headed down to the Sony Ericsson Service Centre in Toh Guan to collect my K850i. I missed her! I was surprised that there we virtually NO one there! Usually I have to wait like 30mins for my turn but I was next in the queue as I reached there. Lucky me!

The little gadget was finally alive and I tested every functions I could and I think the Customer Service Personnel was kind of "why is he taking so long" mood. haha. Well, I didn't want to come all the way down there again.. so I tested everything. Including surfing the net and sending SMSes to myself. It all worked OK, only that my 8GB MicroSD was creating a huge lag on my handphone and will sometimes caused the phone to hang in an endless loop of vibrates and silence. I took it back anyway.

Next, was to collect my cheque for doing my small acting stint as the vege seller in "Wasiat". It was in the Ayer Rajah area and it didn't take too long. After that, I went down to the nearby STA Inspection Center to check the Smoke Emissions on my bike again. I was there last Monday, but was sent away coz they said the smoke emissions were off the charts and I had to clean the exhaust pipe, which means I have to send the bike for repairs. It cost me $45 to do that and now, the bike is virtually smoke-free but a bit noisier. Anyhoo, I finally did pass the damn test. So that means I dun have to pay any fine to the NEA. Haha!

<< Fwibbox!

I felt so great to have all my errands finally done. Now I don't have to worry about having my bike being caught by the NEA again for too much smoke emission. It will be 2 or 3 more months before I can have my Fwibbox back. She's waiting!

--- 11 Feb 2008, 3PM --- I Was On TV! ---

Ops.. yeah.. I was on TV last night. On Suria's Wasiat Episode 4 to be precise. I was an extra cast, being a Vegetable Seller at where else but Pasar Geylang. Ngahaha! Watch the Video below, its taken by my Mobile Phone, So its a bit blur and stripey. I am the guy who is in the Gray Singlet and talk like an AhPek with a mix of Indian accent. (seriously, I didn't know where that came from)

Yeah.. Funny right? Laugh all you want. I know I did badly coz the I couldn't remember much of the script. You know why? Coz they gave me the script on the day that I came to the set. I did not even know what I was supposed to do. Ngeh! BUt anyhoo.. wat done is done. I'm still happy for being to see myself acting on TV, for ONCE! (I have always missed my own air-time on TV on previous act jobs).

Anyhoo, today I was supposed to have 2 Bukit Chandu (or Opium Hill) shows but the earlier one was canceled due to 2 late-comers in the cast. :/ Wat a bummer. And ya, this school, the Red Swastika School... alamak... like one big Prison, you know. The Security Guard has against everyone that drives/walk/ride through the Vehicular Entrance. Early in the morning make me hot already. I ride in the gate and he say I ride too fast lah, need to report to him lah, KNNCCB! Like one gangster guarding a mafia hideout. And it wasn't only me.. he gave a mouthful to all of the cast that came through "his" gate. Stupid Old man. Last night never get any is it? Haha! This is the first school that I have ever been to that has such a "front-gate" experience. Want to ON, no need so Super-ON lah!

Ok, tomorrow having another 2 shows, one in the east and one in the north. Similar as today, but timing, a little later than today.

During the CNY Holidays, My family, Putri And I went for a day long Mass Picnic at East Coast Park. Some of my Relatives was there too. I was expecting that ECP would be packed to the brim with homo-sapiens but it wasn't that bad. There was still space for new picnic comers to lay their mat on the grass. Coz I remembered a few years ago, when I came here on the same CNY Holidays.. It was worse. Can't even see the grass anymore! It was like a refugee camp with tents virtually next to each other.

Anyhoo, I swam (for the very first time in my life), with 2 of my brothers, side-by-side. It was a great moment to feel so close to my family. We don't have a lot of suck times eversince everyone got married and moved out. We swam, I walked a lot with Putri and played 3 rounds of Bowling with my Siblings and Relatives. To make it short. Everyone had fun and it was a darn Beautiful Day. Below are some of the pics that I took.

I have updated the previous post with some pictures taken during the River Hong Bao Event. ENJOY!

--- 6 Feb 2008, 5PM --- Gong Xi Fa Cai ---

On Monday, I didn't managed to get 2 tasks done. So I have to postpone it till next week. I was just too tired for waking up damn early for the School Show, to go to the Motor Inspection and to go to Sim Lim square.

My new K850i is starting to show some problems. This morning, my entire contact list was gone! I don't know how, but it was wiped clean! But after I off-on it, the List was back. And that was just the beginning. When I reached work, I find that I could not send any SMS/MMS at all. It will immediately give me a "Error sending" message once I press the Send button. I have taken out the memory card, deleted a few applications,.. but nothing worked. I will try to get the FW re-updated once I get home later. If it still doesn't work, its back to the Sony Ericsson Operating Table for this baby. *shessh*

Before I forget, Happy Chinese New Year for any Chinese readers out there. May this new year bring health and fortune to you and your family and also your loved ones! HUAT AH!!!

Talking about Chinese New Year, Yesterday's performance at the "River Hong Bao" event was a really bad experience. So far, its the worst I have ever witnessed, backstage. You see, we were supposed to have 3 items back-to-back according to the schedule. But right after our 1st Item, the 3rd one was canceled. OK, fine.. seriously i didn't mind that. The Show went on with these pretty china gals (I assume) doing their modelling show on stage. We were already packed up and about to go out of the area until the crew came to us and told us to continue with our canceled item, coz they said they still got "time". Confused and agitated, we still continued.. with the musicians taking out their stuff and getting ready to go and stage while we just dropped our bags and was already at the backstage... when... another guy (the manager, I suppose), ran up to us and told it was canceled again and he ran off. WHAT ??? Can't these people MAKE UP THEIR Freaking MINDS?

So we got off the stage. Some of the musicians were already on stage admist the confusion. And then came the final blow (to most of us) the stage crew shouted at us to go on stage. So,.. I shouted at them "SOMEONE JUST SAID IT WAS CANCELED!" But he said, no and said it was still on. And after throwing a few words at them to make up their mind, someone came up to them and said it was finally canceled. And to think, they have walkie-talkie in their freaking ears all these time. Are they listening to instructions or listening to their MP3? Shit man. This is what happen when people don't take their job seriously and when there are too many people who think they are in-charge. Even my Senior Choreographer gave up and just sat on the floor. I was really dissapointed with how they do their job man... really dropped their own water-face at their own big event. :p

In all those not-so-good news above... at least there is some light when I came to work just now. I just received the company's "Special Performance Bonus". Not much.. but.. WOHOOO!

So... Super long-weekend is here. Whats your plan?

--- 2 Feb 2008, 10AM --- Everyone's Leaving---

Heh.. the title does sound a little sad doesn't it? Hehe... actually its not lah. Its just the situation now here at my workplace. It seems that a lot of people are sending in their resignation letters. Yesterday, already 2 people have left the place. One of them entered the company the same time as me. The other one is an engineer.. whom I think I never even met before! Only talked to him via the phone.

<< a small gift from the colleague that left.

The main reason (that I know of generally) of my colleagues leaving is that the company I worked for 2+ years haven't been taking care much of its employees, in terms of quarterly "benefits". These benefits that I'm talking about are the Quarterly Bonuses. When I just entered the workforce 2+ years ago, Quarterly bonuses were regular and lavish. These Quarterly Bonuses were meant as "rewards" for making profits for the company. At that time, our work was manageable, even with only 1 or 2 people working PER SHIFT. Yes... work then was like the water in a narrow stream; flowing gently as time passes by... slowly but surely. But now... work is like a river which had burst its banks and is bent for destroying anything in its path..... Oklah.. im a bit exaggerating here. haha.. Maybe it have NOT reach to that point yet but more of like a Flooded River, full of debris.. taking along anything that dares to venture into the swirling waters.

That is how my work is now. I'm not just talking about my own dept.. but as a whole group of employees, below the high management. Workload here is obviously getting heavier, but targets and limits set by the company when it was started.. is still THE SAME now. Where is the fairness in that?

Ok.. I'm rambling nonsense here. I think I should stop talking about this now. Lets talk about something else! ..... Oh yes! I have updated my own version of the Current & Future MRT Map of Singapore. If you all have read the newspaper about the current government's decision to make the transportation network more intense, then you would know what the update is about. Its about new lines in our MRT System. These new lines are the Newer version of the "Eastern Regional Line (ERL)", the "Thomson Line (TSL)" and the "Tuas Extension (TEL)".

The ERL will start around the Marina South area, up to Tanjung Rhu and follow the eastern coast and join the East-West Line at Changi Airport. It will continue up until Changi Village. The TSL will also start somewhere in the Marina South area, but Northwards. This line will pierce through the towns of Kim Seng (Great World City), Scotts Road, intercept the Circle Line at Thomson & Marymount Stations, follow the Thomson/Ang Mo Kio area, go through Mandai and up till Woodlands. I dunno why they need a line there coz its all rich people living there. All with semi-Ds and Condos. Also, the roads there are rarely jammed.. I know.. coz I take this route to work everytime. The Tuas Extension.. speaks for itsefl basically.. it just serves the Tuas Industrial Area which is currently only accessible publicly with slow Buses and overpriced taxis.

You can view the Map here. I will include a ReadMe Text file soon, in the Custom Maps page.

Anyhoo, I joined playing the music for a bit coz I was bored to death there. It was fun but I didn't do well coz I suck at playing music! Woohoo!

After all that jamming, Me and Putri we off to yet another movie, this time at The Cathay Picturehouse. We were to catch "Darjeeling Limited". However, we were about 45 minutes early, so we decided to have our dinner. The basement had this Indonesia Restaurant, "Padang Indo" (I think) and it serves damn good food! It was a bit pricier than eating at Food courts (somewhere in the price range of Swenson's) but the delicacies there were worth it! Especially if you are into Spicy Indonesian food. OMG! We ordered Deng-deng Balado, Ayam Bakar and Sambal Kangkong. (Shit, my mouth is watering as I'm typing this). I ate till I had some mucus coming out of my nostrils! Eiiiuuu! Disgusting, but it was THAT good! haha! NO doubt I'm going to eat there again in the future! Oh ya! Great service too (with 10% service charge, you expect to have good service!). :p

Anyhoo, The movie we caught later on was a story about 3 brothers, in a unusual journey to find their mother in India. (I will review this later too).

<< nostril hair trimmer

We were off to Mustafa Center next to grab some stuff. I wanted to get this Nostril Hair Trimmer thingy coz my nostril was getting a bit bushy. wahahaha! This thing is heaven I tell you! Its basically a rounded "scissors" and you just have to insert it into your nostrils, squeeze the lever and *poof*! Your nostrils are clear from those irritating nose hair that juts out like mad vines. It costs a bit though at $13, but its worth it! Putri got some toiletries and I added some chocolates and mouthwash to my shopping list.

You know what? I just hate people who stop in the middle of the aisle to discuss something when the aisles in Mustafa Center was already narrow like hell. C'mon lah people, want to discuss, go to one corner and talk lah.. Don't stop in the middle of the way and block the entire crowd! Very inconsiderate!

That was the end of Saturday. Though we wanted to play some bowling or Karaoke before we went home. But all the lanes were packed and the queue list was soooo long! Karaoke next available slot was at 2am and we were already tired. Did you realise that most of the Bowling Centers in Singapore are located in the west? Count yourself and you will realise that. You see, in the east we only have Tampines SAFRA and East Coast Bowl (known as "Marine Bowl"). Only 2 and 1 upcoming one in the new Downtown East. Whereas in the west, there is SAFRA Mount Faber, West Coast Recreation Ctr, Chevrons, Taman Jurong, Jurong Entertainment Centre and CDAN. There are 6! And to think that the population is more in the east of Singapore. *sheesh*.

my new mobo and processor >>

On Sunday, first up was to go to Sim Lim Square to buy a new home PC for my close friend, Hermee. Putri tagged along since she had nothing to do. We 3 scoured the building from level 5 to level 4 (that's how I shop there; from top to bottom) and we finally got to this shop "PC Themes" which sells DIY PCs at quite competitive prices. I also bought a new MSI Motherboard and Intel Core 2 Duo processor to replace my old one.

We had a quick lunch together at BK and Hermee went off seperately. So, Putri and me finally went to SAFRA Tampines to have our Bowling game there (we have booked in advance the day before). I played a little above average on the 2nd game while Putri is getting better! I tell you, one day, she will beat me! My average score is about 130+ while Putri, who only gets an average score of 70+, got a 111 score yesterday!

our 2nd game results. 1st game was a warm up!

We went to Tampines Mall and Century square for some Window Shopping and some Real Shopping for Putri. She got her long-awaited Croc Shoes and we got ourselves a couple polo-T from IP Zone.

<< she had this

To end our weekend together, we decided to end it of with a dessert! SO, we ate Ice-cream at Haagen Daaz. Nyummy! Putri had an ice-cream "dish" called "Macadamia Nut" while I had "Banana Split". Putri had her 2 $10 voucher to use, so why not? I still have mine and we planned to use it again soon! There was this Chocolate promotion under Haagen Daaz where there is an All-Chocolate, Chocolate Fondue. Basically all the Ice-cream served will be all the different chocolate flavours with a Chocolate sauce fondue in the middle. Nyummy!

and i had this

Yeah... so that was my long weekend. Now, I'm just relaxing at home, wasting another 2 days of Off Day. How about you? How did you spend your first 2008 weekend?
