--- 31 Dec 2007, 1PM --- Happy New Year 2008 ---
I know its not time yet.. But just wanna wish all my friends, families, readers and my Putri out there a Very Happy New Year 2008.
May this new year be a fruitful and a much more meaningful year. If 2007 was a pain in the ass, let it be a lesson to ourselves and put it behind us. Forget about those bad things that happen in that year, but never forget to learn from the mistakes that we had made.
Great memories of 2007 will be kept in our hearts and will be brought along to be shared among our memories of the future days in 2008 and beyond. (am i making sense here? coz i'm coughing as I'm typing this).
Happy New Year 2008 Everyone.
May this year be full of Peace and Happyness.
and enjoy what left of 2007 while you still can...
--- 30 Dec 2007, 10AM --- Sick, sick, sick; Part 2 ---
I'm still sick, after 3 days. Now is already the 4th day. I'm feeling better right now but the sore-throat still lingers and I still do cough badly once in a while. However, my sickness was its peak on Saturday.
On Friday was my off day. So I just stayed home and rest. I thought my sickness was already at bay since my sore-throat was feeling better. The day went along fine without any hiccups. But then, about 5pm that day, I began coughing more and the pain in my throat became unbearable. So I went to the doctor again and I told her everything (from the 1st doctor to the pills the 1st doctor prescribed me). She then prescribed me a stronger set of medicine, including antibiotics, painkillers and gargle pills.
So, I went home straight and ate a bit so that I
could take the new medicine. I fell asleep soon after. At about 8pm, I
felt nauseous and ran to the toilet and began to throw up. The thing
is.. there wasn't any food or medicine in my vomit, but just phlegm..
lots of it. I threw up twice in a row and I felt really weak and a
slight fever developed.
I met up with Putri soon after just for a while. She had a meal at McDonalds while I just had a cup of hot Milo.
Back at home, I tried to sleep but my cough kept waking me up every 1 half hour or so. There was just too much phlegm in my throat that my body decide to force it out by coughing every now and then. I stood by a container beside my bed so that I can just spit all the sticky-ewwy phlegm into it, instead of having to rush to the kitchen to clear my mouth. So, I didn't sleep particularly well that night. By sunrise, the container (the ones where the hawker centres use to pack your mee rebus) was already half-filled with my saliva-cum-phlegm cocktail. And to add to the misery,... there was blood in it too. BLOOD?!?!?!
Yes
fresh blood. It was not too much. Just a bit here and there.. but it
was obvious. It seems that my already sore throat was unable to take
the continuous heat and coughing all night that it made my throat bleed
as well. I searched the net for any clues on this bleeding phenomenon
and found out that it was better to seek medical attention if one was
to ever find blood in their phlegm.
I told my mum about it but she told me its just my heaty body and she made me a home-made winter melon drink to cool my body down. My throat, however, have not became better. By the afternoon, everytime I tried to swallow is like having a knife stuck at your throat. Yes it was that painful. And when I cough, tears will flow out of my eyes. I had no mood to do anything. I just tried to sleep the entire day.
BY nighttime, i woke up to found that everything was feeling better. Way better. It felt as if my sore-throat wasn't even there in the first place! The medicine was that strong, I guess. Though some traces of blood was still in my phlegm. But everything else was fine.
Now I'm at work.. trying
to keep my cough at bay coz i don't want to throw up or have my mouth
filled with phelgm in the middle of the cleanroom (there is no toilet
here). I hope this bug will be gone for good really soon.. coz.. I'm
running out of medicine. :p
--- 27 Dec 2007, 10AM --- Sick, sick, sick ---
While other people are enjoying their year-end parties and planning their new year resolutions, i'm stuck with the multiple Sick Bug.
I started to get a mild sore-throat on Christmas Day (the day I was working OT), and sucked on countless number of Stepsils Lozenges. Obviously, it didn't work.. Oklah, it worked for a while.. but by the next day, my sore-throat was getting worse. So, having medical coverage under my company, I decided to see the doctor without much hesitation. Saikang! Anyway..., I got to the clinic right on the dot as the shutters were opening. Eventhough I was early, i was 2nd in line and to makes matters worse, the doctor was late. :p UNACCEPTABLE! too much partying the previous night eh, doc?
Anyway, he was a friendly chap and gave me more Lozenges, a cough syrup and some antibiotics. I didn't have fever at this time so he didn't give me any panadol. So, I messaged my colleagues at work to inform them that I was on MC for 1 day. I got home, watched some CSI on the net, chatted with Putri a bit and dozed-off due to the Super Drowsy Cough Syrup. You know, this syrup can be used as a "sleeping syrup"! If you can't seem to sleep at night.. drink 10ml of this and you are off to dreamland in a matter of minutes! haha.. I fell asleep at 10:30am and guessed what time I woke up? 6PM!!! OMFG! 7.5 Hours!!! There goes my MC day. haha!
Anyhoo, my body temperature went up at night-time. It wasn't that bad so I just hoped that some more sleep will make it go away. My sore-throat was still there so I sucked on the lozenges while I was dozing off to make sure that the lozenges will stay in my mouth throughout the night. It works! I woke up this morning to a better throat.. however, my Fever was still developing. Crap.
Still, I got up and went to work and I'm still here now. I feel weak and lethargic. My joints are beginning to hurt and I feel that my brain wobbles everytime I make a sudden move. My leader told me to take MC again but I said to him.. if I did that, then it will be my forth MC this month. :p Yeah... however, I did say to him that if I cannot tahan by noon, I will be going off. See lah how.

-- 25 Dec 2007, 12PM --- Orang Gila je Keje Hari ni --
What the title means, basically... "Only crazy people is at work today". Heh.. That was what I heard a lot from some friends that I had in my poly years. And ironically, those who said these words ended up working on these kind of days (weekends and holidays). That includes me also. Haha!
I'm NOT supposed to be working today, but I came for OT today. So, yeah.. double pay for me today. Zzz... but I still wished I hadn't opted for OT Today. I still have not recovered from my Night Shift sleep patterns.
Let me seeee... what did I do yesterday. Yesterday.. yes.. yes.. The day when most shop retailers are rubbing their hands with glee as countless shoppers filled shopping centres with their smelly feet and sweaty bodies (after all those walking), looking for their last minute Christmas presents. I was one of those people in the crowd. Together with Putri.
i had this, Classic Chicken BBQ Pasta >>
It wasn't a pretty sight. Bodies clashing, People path-hogging and shops closing fast (coz the employers want to go for their own shopping). We were at VivoCity. Putri wanted to buy one of those Croc shoes and VivoCity has the only outlet I could remember. We went to search for her shoes, some Body Shop Stuff and then off to Dinner at no other than Fig & Olives. The food there today was better than the last time we ate there. I dunno it was me or wat.. but I swear pasta never tasted so good before. It was a surprise that there wasn't even a crowd at the restaurant, whereas at Swenson's right beside this outlet was having a hell of a waiting queue!
<< Putri had this, Figo Surprise
After that, we went for my Malay Dance, while Putri went to update some of her inventory stuff. I was already feeling groggy since I was awake since 6AM yesterday morning, due to my changing in shifts. My Internal Clock has gone haywire! I just couldn't sleep back after waking up... no matter how hard I tried. So I ended up watching CSI on the net. :p
Anyway, after dance, the whole group of us went for supper at Bencoolen Street, just opposite 101 Plaza in between the NAFA Campuses. I had no mood to eat coz sore throat was developing... it started in the afternoon but now it feels like its not going to go away. I just hate Sore Throats. Its one of the common sicknesses that I simply hate. Give me a fever, a broken arm anytime.. and I will still be happy that I'm still alive.. but with a Sore Throat... I just wish I have the ability to brush my throat with a metal-bristle brush.
So,.. I just had Hot Milo for supper. The rest were planning to watch 'I Am Legend' at Suntec City but I decided to abort at the last minute coz my eyes can't stand it anymore. I don't want to risk fall ing asleep on my bike again, would I? So me and Putri went home. :( Sorry guys!
Now, I'm
counting down till my clock-out time while 'tending' to my sore-throat
with loads of Super Strong Strepsils. The Purple ones that will make
your tongue numb so that you will (hopefully) not feel the sore-throat.
I seems to work, coz I can't taste the Fried Rice I had this morning.
heh.. does this thing have such thing as an overdose? hmm..

--- 24 Dec 2007, 7:15AM --- When I'm Bored @ work ---
This is a result of me, being bored at work and waiting for the time to pass by. It was night shift then, and the workload wasn't much. Wat's more, it was Clock-out time in a few minutes.
Haha! Was I being creative or wat? Actually the idea struck me when My PC decided to crash on me while I was doing my work before drawing this thing. The notice board was right beside me, so.. who can you blame? hehe.. So I thought... what happens if everything in life works like the standard Windows PC? Crashing here and there, when and where they like. Imagine having an error message while watching TV, drawing or doodling on paper.. shit... it could be anything! You are doing your stuff and suddenly, a message appears like the one above. "Error! Tv Reception Runtime Error!" bah!
Hey you! DECIDE FOR ME!
--- 22 Dec 2007, 9PM --- What should I get? ---
== Pls help me Decide! Poll at the end of this article ==
Year end is just around the corner and I have rounded up a few stuff that I want to buy with my 13th Month Bonus. It has been a looooong year (actually it went quite fast lah) and I need something to "motivate" me for the new year and new challenges ahead. C'mon, I CAN get myself something right? I DESERVE IT! Well, here are the 5 options that I have rounded-up.
1) Nikon D50 DSLR (2nd Hand)This one.. I dunno how long I have wanting to get this baby. This will test my photographic capabilities to see how I stand in my own sea of creativeness (cheh... PIGIDAH!)...
2) PSP Slim Console
Ok, this one is a want, rather than a need. I don't like being bored especially if i'm outside, waiting for appointment, riding the train/bus, etc etc . The games on my hp makes me sleepy if I play it too much and the small screen doesn't help much.
3) Nintendo Dual-Screen Console
Same reason as the PSP Slim one. But this one has more interactive games than the PSP ones. PSP is just press press press. While NDS is about using all your senses! Press buttons, Use the touchscreen, blow into the mic (dun think kinky here), etc etc.
4) NVidia GF8800GT Graphics Card
My
current one is really getting old. Its a Nvidia 6xxx series Graphics
Card from dunno what year and it was passed down from my brother who
had bought a new graphics card for his PC then. It still works fine but
I can't play newer games like NFS:ProStreet or Colin McRae Dirt or Test
Drive Unlimited, due to my current card not supporting any Level of the
"Shader system". Don't ask me what that means. :p
5) Or Just save the damn money!
Haha.. Self-explanatory.
So, there you go. The round-up of my wish-list which I can only get one of them. Not 2 not 3, but only one of them. So, if it YOUR choice, which one would you go for?
VOTE NOW! Each vote costs 50cents (haha, just kidding). Voting will end on 1st Jan! Vote laaa.. dun shy shy k?
--- 20 Dec 2007, 6:30AM --- Salam Aidiladha ---
TO all my Muslim Friends out there, Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha.
This year is my first year actually staying home for Hari Raya Haji, coz usually, my dad, my brother and me would have to go to the mosque to help my dad slaughter the goats. My mum would still go there to help in the cooking of the food giveaways. I dunno why this year he or my mum never participate.
--- 19 Dec 2007, 1AM --- New Batman & Indy Movies ---
These are the 2 movies I will definitely be catching in 2008! The "Dark Knight" theatrical trailer has just been released!
The link HERE. And Enjoy the new posters I found on the net, below.
<click the posters to see a bigger, clearer version!>
I just love the posters! The Dark Knight Poster shows the Joker from the back in his famous Purple Jacket, holding his Joker Card. Suits the mood of the new Batman Begin era.
The Indiana Jones poster, looks like the ones from the 80's. Very little graphical effects and straight to the point. That is what the new movie is giving to the audience: No CGI Special Effects and good old fashion stunts and cinematic effects. And not forgetting the old Harrison Ford. heh...

I decided to Remove the "Smallville" Link, coz I don't think anyone would be interested in reading the Smallville show reviews. Some more, with the Writer's Strike going on in the US, its hard to predict whether future episodes will still be aired or not.
--- 17 Dec 2007, 3AM --- Hady Wins Asian Idol ---
Hady
Mirza just won the first Asian Idol, representing our country,
Singapore. If Asian Idol is part of the SEA Games, he will actually be
adding another Gold Medal to Singapore's medal tally. hehe...
Its not that I do follow any of Singapore Idol episodes (I'm Not a Local TV fan) or any Asian Idol episodes, for this case. Just that I'm proud of him that he actually won this contest. It proves that Singapore still have local-bred talents, only that the market here is not strong or brave enough to push these talents overseas.
I'm also proud of him, coz he's a very humble person and actually sang one of Taufik Batisah's popular song in the Asian Idol contest, in respect for the 1st Singapore Idol Winner. That shows that he still remember his friends no matter how high he go.
So, I would like to
congratulate him on the big win and hope that he will make Singapore
prouder as he goes along to the further stages of his singing career.
--- 16 Dec 2007, 11PM -- Inconsiderate Neighbours ---
As
I was going to work just now, someone in my block of flats had
conveniently trashed a HUGE bag of after-party rubbish inside the
common lift. If that wasn't bad enough, the smell of stinkin' mixed
gravy and chicken bones also filled the air inside the lift. This
wasn't the first time they were doing this and I suspect it is the same
lazy-ass idiot who has been doing it all these while.
So, the Mean part of AzMean took over and the detective part of me did some.. erm.. detecting. haha! I pressed the buttons for two highest floor of the block, since I guessed that was where the rubbish came from. True enough, as the lift door opened on level 11, there were some leftover stains on the floor indicating that the idiot have put down the bag while waiting for the lift (the bag was leaking the gravy, u see).
So I grabbed the entire Rubbish Bags and tossed it onto the 11th Level Lift Landing. There. Justice was served.
the event was held under a big tentage @ Jurong Spring CC
On other news, my weekend was spent helping Putri and her friends at this big carnival @ Jurong Spring Community Centre/Club. She was doing some Emceeing while I was there to help with playing some sound effects (like applause and funny noises while she was doing her emceeing).
<< me, bored @ backstage
The event was organized by PPIS-Jurong, a family Service Centre located in the West side of Singapore. They did the carnival in a way that there were small stalls selling food and handicrafts and they would have to buy the coupons (in a booklet) in order to purchase anything. My guess is that most of the cash generated in this carnival will be used to help needy families.
The Carnival was full of different performances. Mostly performed by kids, while a few was by adults. Even 2 guys from 'Anugerah 2007' was invited to entertain to the audience. I was there from 12PM all the way to about 5PM, tending the emcee's needs. Eventhough, very heavy rain poured down during most of the afternoon, it did not dampen anyone's spirit there. Everyone there were having fun, one way or another.
>> one of the performances by cute little kids
What
really surprised me at the end of the carnival was the quantity of
Lucky Draw Prizes given out and the worth of it! If I did recall
correctly, over 100 gifts were given away and the last 10 or 20 prizes
included a few hundred dollars OSIM and Mary Chia Vouchers. The First 9
Lucky Draw gifts included a Swatch watch, a Guess watch and a Diamond
Ring bundled with a few more cash vouchers! WOW. I wish I could win one
of those. haha..
--- 13 Dec 2007, 6AM --- What's Your ECA/CCA? ---
Lets get back into time for now. I know you people like to do that once in a while ya? For this topic, we will go back into time and recall back our sweet (and bitter) memories of our Primary, Secondary and Tertiary school days enjoying our favourite Extra Curricular Activities or better known as ECA (or now, CCA).
Let me see, starting from Primary School... erm.. I didn't participate in any of the ECAs! You wanna know why? Coz I was busy playing truant and chasing grasshoppers in the school field, that's why! haha.. Yeah, I was small Devil in Primary School. :p
Only when I entered Secondary School then I started to get active in ECAs. My first one? None other than the Art Club. That ECA Rox man! Coz I like the subject and I liked the teacher as well. haha.. It was basically an extended Art Lesson after school hours... no wait.. that was before school hours, coz I was in the afternoon session at that time. I was so active in this ECA until the teacher decided to make me the "President" of the Art Club. Haha.. President my A**! It was official though.. too bad.
My next one was the Soccer Team. Heh,.. Yeah, AzMean used to play soccer you know? But seriously, Soccer wasn't my thing and I stopped coming after a few trainings. Then came that Youth Club thingy.. I forgot what was the full name of the ECA. Basically it organisers lots and lots of so-called "team building" camps with different schools and get to meet more teens. I had fun in this ECA too.. going to different schools for camps and meeting lots and lots of teens. Of coz, those "friendships" only lasted during the camps since during those times, MSN, E-mails, Pagers & Handphones were not invented yet. But still... those camps were a blast!
Next ECA that I conquered was the Robotics Club! Yeah... this was where my love for Lego got a kick-start after all those long years (since I was a kid) not touching a single Lego Brick. Here was where I was introduced to Computers, the Internet, Programming and Lego Robotics. Looking back, I wished I had taken some of those Lego Stuff home. haha.. they seriously did not check the inventory back then. We (as a club) entered a few Robotics Competitions organized by Ngee Ann Poly (they are still doing it now, IIRC) but did not win any prizes.. bah!
One of the competitions was to build any type of vehicle that will push, carry or pull a tennis ball over a few obstacles and place the tennis ball at a designated point. To end the course, I would need to burst a ballon with the same vehicle. The vehicle was entirely made out of Lego Technic Bricks and I built a Bulldozer model which was seriously slow and inferior compared to the other schools' models.
In my Tertiary Years, I took up the Adventure Club and Malay Cultural Society (now Malay Arts Group) the moment I stepped into the Campus. Heck, I even went to Berkelah Waterfalls with the Adventure Club even before the new Term started! Berkelah Waterfalls.. ahh.. I just love that place. I just hope I can go there again, one day. Anyone know how to go there?
Malay Arts Group was where I met most of my friends who are still in contact with nowadays. I stayed in that CCA (yeah, at this time it was changed to CCA) for the entire 3.5 years that I was in Poly. Only that I changed Sub-groups in this order. Dikir Barat + Tarian --> Dikir Barat only --> Dikir Barat + Drama --> Drama Only.
In my 2nd year of Poly, I did take up Archery after quitting Rock-Climbing with the Adventure Club. It was a fun sport, for a while.. then it became quite boring coz every training session was the same old same old.. but I stayed there for 1 full year coz basically I was the Quarter-Master. Ngeh!
Yeah.. basically that's it. All the ECAs / CCAs that I have spent my teenage life on. Quite a list! Let me summarise the list, for the benefit of.. umm.. myself.
- Art Club
- Soccer
- Youth Enrichment Club (i think)
- Robotics Club
- Adventure Club (Hiking & Rock Climbing)
- Malay Arts Group (Dikir Barat, Tarian & Drama)
- The Archery Club
Whoa, was I a busy teen or what?! Haha.. I can't believe I took all these activities all these while. If you ask me to take it again, after all these while, I would probably be sticking to Malay Arts and Rock Climbing Only. hehe...
So what's yours? ;)
--- 13 Dec 2007, 12AM --- Very Weird Evening! ---
As I came to work today, in the evening, I just have this weird weird feeling about tonight. I dunno why.. I just feel it. True enough, on this first day for the rest of the fortnight, going on Night Shift, something weird was going to happen.
First things first, the Company's Network went down. The Internet Network that is.. The E-mail Network is fine. The Overall Internal Network is working great. But not the internet. I cannot surf the internet, what-so-ever. Well, Except for one particular Website. No other than www.happeepill.com. Serious. Yeah, true that it may have been saved in the PC's cache or something... but the thing is, I can read the updated stuff (w/o those images) and also read some of the page's archives including the images and flash animations. Well, at least I have something to read for these few hours. The Network went up around 9PM but went down again soon after. :P Now.. it's fully restored. I Hope.
The other weird thing that happened was when I was going to have my tea-break. You see, the company has its own canteen and for night shift personnel, they are not allowed to go out of the company for their breaks, so everyone have to eat in the canteen. But once I reached the canteen... there was NO ONE! Not even a single soul (not counting the canteen vendors). At this time, there will be usually at least a number of groups having their Tea-break and chit-chatting over their food. But not now. It was totally empty. No Noise.. No one ordering.. No bells ringing for collection of orders. The first thing I said to my collegues was, "Canteen also down?", relating to the current network status. Coincidence? Most probably. But its just weird.
Even the fridge
storing the Soft Drinks were locked with a chain and padlock! WTFish!?
Now who in the right mind would do that, considering that this canteen
runs 24/7. So I just took out my instant Milo Fuse and got a cup and
added hot water to it. Bought a Kaya Bread and dunk it in my Milo.
Nice.... Lets just hope no more weird things will happen anymore. On a
side note, Did you know the company's present location is haunted?
Wooohoo!
--- 11 Dec 2007, 1130AM --- The Sun is OUT! ---
Finally, after 2 (or 3) days of almost continuous rain, the sun have decided to drop in for a visit. I hope he stays for a bit longer before Mr Rain comes back again to shower us with his tears of the sky.
At these times, how I wish I can drive a car. :p

Ok... when I was younger (before my age hit sweet 17), I lived in a far far away land, called Stirling Road. :p actually its just the other side of Stirling Road that I currently live in. Haha! I grew up in a bigger house and much much more freedom. If you take the MRT west-bound between Queenstown and Commonwealth Stations, you can still see those Terrace houses that line-up beside the MRT Viaducts. One of those houses, used to house my family of 6.. and a few other beings.
These 'beings' were my cats (and the other non-invited rodents). My family LOVES and ADORES Cats. Any breed, any age. Basically, my house was like one big CAT hotel for the Stirling Road Vicinity. Any Cat that comes to my house looking for shelter and food will be immediately accepted. No background checks, No immunizations, No Sterilizations, No fees, No obligations and No work permits. Haha! All they need to do in order to live there was to know where they are supposed (and not) to shit/pee and not to fight with the rest of the cats. I still remember very clearly, this particular male cat, who was skinny to the bone.. came right to our backyard and mewed to my mum. He became an immediate family member and one of our favourite cats. Yup. Just like dat. (I'll talk more abt this chap later)
Extreme Left is 'Itam'. The back is 'Putih'. The rest.. I forgot :(.
These cats were free to stay or to leave at their own account. Since it was a terraced house on the ground floor.. they were basically free to roam wherever they like. There were a few instances that some cats came in for one day and gone the next. It was like as if they were backpacking across Singapore and heard from some Kitty Rumours that my house was the place to be for a good night's rest. Though most of the cats that lived there the longest were those that my family actually brought home, like if friends or relatives gave them to us or when we find some kittens abandoned in a box somewhere in Singapore.
this is 'Boy' (left) and his "wife", 'Girl'. SERIOUS!
They basically did their 'jobs' as cats. Most of them will catch and kill the rats or cockroaches that will be daring enough to enter the cat dungeon premises. Oh, and not forgetting some lizards as well. Though at times, there will be feathers found in my house.. left around by one of my cats who got lucky enough to catch a bird that ventured into the vicinity of my garden.
this is 'Putih' & 'Itam' again, all grown up @ their fav hangout.
All in all, the maximum number of cats I ever did have was about 16. I don't have the exact numbers coz they were always roaming around somewhere at different time of the days. Never were all of them at home at any one time. Well, except for feeding time of coz. Now that was chaos. Imagine feeding more than a dozen cats at a time. Their everyday diet was wet cat food, mashed up with an equal portion of rice. Yes Rice. The feeding tactics were to lay some old newspapers on the floor, put their food in different clumps; each clump for each mouth.. and call them. And we have a simple call name for all of them... it goes like "Ngeeeee!!! Tsk tsk tsk!".. and they all will stampede down for their meal. They come in all directions. Over the partition, over the gate, through the window, some even tumbling in... like I said, it was chaos. Some of them will eat at the same portion, some will still be trying to find their grub while most will be almost be halfway done. Those timid ones will be bullied away by the bullies so that they can have more food. Those of coz will be pulled away by my mum, so that the timid ones will have their fair share.
These guys.. I dun even remember having them! haha! but i think they are 'Girl's' direct family members
Names! Yes, names... I don't think I can remember them all but I will name a few which I recall. Usually they are named after their obvious markings or colour so its easier to remember which is which. Let me see.. there was Boy (our fav cat), Putih (a half Persian, half stray cat), Klabu (gray cat, my personal fav), Girl, Itam, Gemuk (this one will eat and eat till you swear she was pregnant!)... gah! I forgot the rest already.
There were some of them which mate and give birth in our home as well. But it's not a pretty sight! I remembered once, one of the pregnant cats took refuge in one of my Eldest Brother's drawers which was filled with clothes. She gave birth to a few kittens there and left a whole big mess inside the drawer. Of coz, my brother's clothes were beyond saving. :p god knows how she managed to get into the drawer herself. As for the kittens, they all survived.
We have also tried to nurse some abandoned kittens by being a mother to them. Like the pic below, we had to buy some milk bottles for pets and milk her manually. It was kind of a great feeling watching them grow to become strong and playful cats like the rest of the group.
Nursing an abandoned kitten
Unfortunately, since I live just beside the main road, some of my cats got knocked down by whatever vehicles that hit them. I dunno what made them go to the middle of the road but usually, like the saying goes, curiosity kills the cat. I have lost count of how many mini graves me and my brother dug to bury them. Sad lah. Sometimes I did shed tears when I see the state of them.. once, my mum cried coz her fav cat passed away. :'(
The cats population slowly grow lesser and some of the cats just never returned home. Some pretty cats got 'catnapped' by other neighbours in the vicinity but we never bothered taking them back coz they are still being take care of. As I grew older, there we no more cats under our roof, due to the fact that every one was either working or schooling and no one was at home to take care of them. It was this way, till my parents decided to move to a smaller home coz my sister and brother was moving out with their own family.
We did take in one more cat in our new home though. It was a persian cat but she was born with one of her hind legs weak or without any bones, I wasn't sure. But she just cannot use it. So she will be just hopping on her surviving hind leg while moving around the house. She was a beautiful kitten and strong too. But she fell sick one day and the vet couldn't save her. She died of intestinal complications. Below are some of her pics.
my mum named her 'baby'
looking out for danger. if you see closely, she is using only one of her hind legs. strong girl, she was.
Until
now, we can't bear to take care of any more cats even though my mum
still brings some leftover food from the canteen to feed to the regular

Initially, I really wanted the same printer that my brother bought last year; the Epson R230. The main function I want this printer was that it could print Directly on printable CD/DVD, thus eliminating the need to buy those CD Labels to print on and paste on the CD itself. And from my past experiences.. it wasn't that easy to paste those darn labels. What's more, the Printed CDs looks more "professional" and nice, albeit the always white background.
However, since that printer is waaaayyy above my budget to get a new one (it costs abt $200+, whereas my budget was only $100). My mum 'urgently' needs a printer AND a scanner as well. She wants it to scan her collection of recipes and written notes and to print them out as well. Hmm.. So, when I saw someone online selling a Canon MP145 PIXMA AIO (All-in-One) as a bargain, I decided to get it.. well since it was the perfect solution and was exactly my budget.
This baby is basically a Printer AND a scanner built in as one, thus the 'AIO' name. Someone sold it off for only S$100 and it was a new, unopened set, mind you. The retail price is around S$170, if I recall correctly. So, I met the friendly chap at the Toa Payoh Interchange after work. A quick chat, an inconspicuous exchange of goods and cash and a quick goodbye. It was over less than 2 minutes. haha..
I
didn't realise the printer was so damn huge! It weigh at least 5KG. The
box... I was worried it would not fit on the back seat of my bike.
Alas, after wrestling with the Rubber-Ropes, I managed to secure the
box on the back seat of my bike. It still wobbles a bit, but that's all
the Rubber-ropes I have. After I secured everything, I realised that
the box colours actually matches my bike. haha!
I rode home, moving slower than usual.. worried that the box might just shift to one side and I'll be having an instant skin graft in the middle of the PIE. Reached home, unpacked everything, removed all the protection tapes off the printer (the were loads of em!) and finally connected it to my PC.
It works as it should. I was surprised that the scan was quite fast but
the start-up time of the printer was terribly slow. Took about 30secs
after pressing the ON button before the device is ready to use. But,
yeah.. I can deal with that. I test-printed out one page of my resume
which had a small photo of me so as to try the colours as well. It
turned out pretty well though the colours wasn't really that sharp, but
that could be due to the fact that I was using some low grade paper
quality. But overall, I was happy with the purchase. So I guess I still
need to get those CD Labels, if I ever had the need to print any CDs.
Man.. that would cost a bomb.
Now, it sits on an old side table, under my workstation, ready to print or scan anything I throw in it. Woot!
--- 05 Dec 2007, 3PM -- Wet, wet day ---
It seems like a very very wet day today with almost all of Singapore covered in acidic rain. I thought of going for my motorcycle inspection right opposite my workplace, but it rained. Bluaah!
My guess is that the Rainy Season has finally come to our shores. From the map on the left here, seems like Tekong is getting some pretty heavy rain out there. So, good luck to those recruits or NSF having their field camp there. Hahahah.. Actually I don't know what article to write about, that's why you are reading this nonsensical topic. So sorry for the lame topic. So that's it for now. Go back to your work and stop surfing the web looking for some thing interesting to read. haha.. I know what you are doinggg.... coz I'm doping the same thing too! WOOT!

Oooohh.. Putri & me have found a new food hunting ground. We have been here before, a few months ago.. can't actually remember when. But I knew I ate little dat day.. and boy did I miss something or what!
Like what the LED display above the counter says; "You don't have to be Mad to dine here. But it sure helps!". Haha.. I agree with that! Yesterday night, Putri & Me went to the Jalan Kayu Outlet (actually we did not know then where were the other 2 outlet located at).
Putri ordered the 'Beef Burger w/ Chips' and 'Brain Stimulator' Drink. As for me, I ordered something similar but 3x the size. It was the 'Blue Mountain Beef Burger' and a 'Iced Milo Dinosaur'. Man! That was one BIG BURGER! 3 patties tall! Yes, 3!! Even BK can't beat that!! I was wondering, how on earth am I gonna eat this giant. Alas, I gave up and ate one patty at a time. Haha! The fries compliments the burger nicely! Nyummy nyummy!~ (I'm drooling as I'm typing this). :p
After our main dish was done, we had dessert! This one another mouth-watering dish. Its wasn't called the "Mad & Rich" Choc cake for nothing. Its a sponge cake covered with Thick Chocolate Sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. I was already full but how can I not eat this dish? It's sooooooooo sinful. Slurp!
Did I enjoyed my meal there or what?! FYI, the 3 outlets are:
- Jalan Kayu: beside the chruch
- Bukit Timah: B4 Coronation Plaza, Beside the Police Station
- Simpang Bedok: Bedok Shopping Center.
Woot!~

If you want to know what the topic above was about, it was about the 5 chaps who tragically drowned representing our country and doing a sport that they love to do.
And this idiot have the cheek to say the above text like they have done something wrong. Its like they have done a big crime that they deserve to die. I'm a water sport enthusiast and i know that if you wear the life-jacket, it limits your movements A LOT. Especially if you are competing. It's not like the organizers told them they should wear the life-jackets. NO one told them, and no one in the entire competition actually did. FYI, a dragon boat is Huge and Heavy with a wide base. It's very difficult for it to capsize itself, even if you try hard to do it. Its a freak accident that took the whole team by surprise... and even though they were wearing life-jackets, its not a 100% guarantee that they will survive the accident. They may have been trying to help their friends till they drown or their head might have hit by something while capsizing... no one knows.
For now, just let them rest in peace. And for the poster above, if you are reading this. I Feel Sorry for you. Sorry that you have such a shallow heart and that you are actually born in this world. Sorry that you are such a coward to put such a comment, hiding behind a nickname. Why don't you put it up on your blog or whatever you have so that everyone can see what a complete asshole you are. You deserve the same treatment of whatever shit you have given to this world whether you are still alive or dead.

--- 02 Dec 2007, 2PM -- Thank God it (was) Friday! ---
Friday was hell and fury on the roads of Singapore. After I got off from work in the evening, I found out that someone (or something) had knocked my bike over from its main-stand. The fall broke my right side-view mirror, only leaving the stem of the mirror still attached. The mirror was lying at a corner curb when I arrive at my bike. It was obvious that someone had caused my bike to fall, picked my bike up and just left the mirror there. There was another bike with the mirror missing too and it was 2 bikes away. So I don't whether he caused it, or he is the victim too. Such irresponsible and coward people to run away from their own wrong- doings! Crap man... that was the 2nd side-mirror broken on this bike... and both was on the right side. *sheesh*
So, I continued on with my journey with "1 eye blind". Its difficult to ride a motorbike without a side mirror.. especially the right one since I'm on the left side of the road, most of the times. What's more, I'm just not used to it. I keep on glancing to the empty area where my side-mirror used to be, when I'm changing lanes. Curse that IDIOT!
As I nearing the CTE to get to the CBD Area.. there was a 3-car, bumper-to-bumper collision along Yio Chu Kang Road. I didn't see much coz my view was blocked and I was in a hurry. In the CBD, OMG... the traffic was snarling! It seems like everyone who has a vehicle in Singapore wants to get their hands on those last minute christmas gifts. Then there was this taxi uncle who drove his taxi against the red light at the junction in-front of the MOM building, right in-front of me! I pressed my horn repeatedly but who am I to defeat the ignorance of a "veteran taxi driver", whom drove off as if nothing had happened.
I was supposed to turn into this lane to Putri's workplace but I decided against it coz I didn't want to go around and go head-to-head with the traffic beast again. I escaped unscathed but with a headache and parked my bike, illegally, near the Victoria Theatre (fine, sue me!).
Putri was already waiting for me and I told her that I was across the river. :p So, I gently strolled down the Cavenagh Bridge to meet Putri and back to my bike. (while trying to find out how "Cavenagh" is being spelled out, I found this interesting Wikipedia article about the bridge. Just a small history on the bridge)
We went for our dinner at Pizza Hut and watch our movie at Marina Square entitled "The Heartbreak Kid". Haha.. hilarious Movie! Will review it in a while.
Pizza Hut.. yeah.. the Pizza Hut Branch in Marina Square is one of the best branches around. Great staff attitude, quick orders, supervisor (or manager) actually doing her work.. basically it's a thumbs up lah. Well, we ate the 2nd time there in less than a week, so that shows we enjoyed eating there. Though I have to say that branch is one of the smaller branches... the staff working there have a big heart. But, that Friday was exceptional (I Hope SO!) coz there were loads of customers and the staff were busy with something. Our Pizza came late and we almost missed the beginning of the movie! It's OK.. I will give them the benefit of a doubt. But still.. eating there is enjoyable.
I think that is it for now. Will write 2 movie reviews soon. Wait for it!
